Circuit Overseer Visits Our Little Group

Well this week has been full of activity because of the visit of our Circuit Overseer and his wife! They are a very loving couple who have been in the traveling work for 18 years throughout Spain. The wife speaks fluent French and Spanish and the brother speaks only Spanish. The meetings during the CO visit are different here since we are only a group and because we are in Spain possibly. We have had congregation bible study and then we had the service meeting. Here as a group during the week we normally have the public talk and watchtower study every week as well as the congregation bible study all in French. We then join the Spanish congregation for the service meetings. This was the first time we’ve every gotten Spanish Kingdom Ministries! đŸ™‚

Anyways, back to the CO visit… We will not have a third meeting this week as normally occurs during CO visits. We will have the public talk on Saturday which will be translated and then an abbreviated WT study as well as a closing talk. Well now that your completely confused let me tell you about the service meetings. đŸ™‚

We have been out almost everyday this week and all of the service meetings have been in private homes in Spanish with a little French thrown in here or there. The service meetings are twice a day at 10am and at 5pm. Let me describe a typical day in service in the French group here in Murcia during the CO visit. We have the service meeting at 10am and we then head to the territory by about 10:30am. We will do search work during the morning in various apartment buildings or homes till 1pm. We will then meet at one of the friends homes where we will enjoy a meal together with multiple courses including wine and dessert! After lunch most of us will relax by taking a siesta at the home of the brother until the next service meeting if we will be going out. We then go out at 5pm and do some street work in territories with a high concentration of French speakers. This will last till 8pm usually. This typical service day is very different from what we are used to but I guess some adjustments are easier to make then others! đŸ™‚
