He Will Make You Firm, He Will Make You Strong

‘He will make you firm, he will make you strong.’ We want to THANK YOU so much for all of the wonderful and amazing comments on our last post on Instagram! ❤ While I couldn’t respond to all of them, know that your kind words of encouragement are much appreciated! While my Instagram account has been mainly used to promote and encourage others to think about serving where the need is great and expand their ministry I know that showing some of the struggles that may come with these decisions and how they are overcome is also helpful. It shows that while it may look like some who expand their ministry by serving in other countries or pioneering may have the perfect circumstances this is far from the truth. In our case, if we had waited for the perfect circumstances to take the leap we likely would still be waiting.
Over the last few years, we’ve been through many ups and downs but Jehovah always sustains us through them. We know that whatever we may face in the future we’ll be able to endure it with Jehovah’s help. The opening words of this caption were from the new study edition article ‘God gives power to the tired one.’ As I was listening to this article this morning I couldn’t help but reflect on the fact that this is just what I needed. It is SO GOOD! The entire magazine really gave me the boost that I needed! In times past when we have faced difficulties, it’s usually been because we’ve been able to keep up a good spiritual routine and these challenges seem to be a way to try to distract us. Things seem no different now. We’ve seen that it’s usually not just one big thing that happens but instead a series of events one after another designed to try to discourage us and cause us to slow down.
Yesterday evening we shared in the cart work in Portugal. To be honest, I can’t say that we felt 100% before going out but we knew that it would be the best thing for us. ? It seems like our obstacles haven’t come to an end just yet which is why we weren’t feeling so great. On Monday afternoon after work and with the stresses of the weekend still in the background, I received an email from the company managing our car in Madrid. For those that don’t know, during the summer we put a car in a car-sharing rental program in order to support some of our travels. Things worked out great and we were able to travel and attend the special assembly and visit many interesting places. Well, after reading the email I was directed to call my agent to find out more info. As I received the news I could hardly believe what I was hearing. He explained to me that over the weekend someone had rented our car and used it on a crime spree to rob several houses and people. The police caught up with the person and the car was involved in a police chase where the suspect lost control and crashed the car while being chased! ?As I told Kanicia the news she thought that I was joking, but unfortunately, I wasn’t. Thankfully the company has insurance and we are happy that no one seems to have been hurt during the whole situation. As we await how the situation will develop we are reminded of how nothing in this world is totally reliable except Jehovah. Instead of being upset we are more just shocked and in surprise than anything. We are more determined to continue to do our best here in our assignment and keep simplifying our lives as trials come and go. We wish you a wonderful week! ??

Wow! This is news! I can’t imagine your shock. Cling to your determination to rely on Jehovah. He will find a way out. I have noticed many times in my (long) life that one event we thought to be a hardship resulted in the end to be a good thing in our lives. French people say: “un bien pour un mal”. I dont know how Jehovah manages but this is how I saw his hand helping me. Well, I know how he manages. He is powerful and wants to help us. Take courage! ??

    1. Thanks for your comment Rosa, yeah we’ve noticed that too with Jehovah. Usually, things turn out for a blessing. We will continue to be patient and rely on him.

That would have been very shocking news no doubt! I would have been mortified! You both are such an encouragement to me as well as others no doubt. Satan is trying his hardest to break you but just keep relying on Jehovah and He will be there to give you strength and endurance. I’ll be praying for you both. Agape love??

    1. Thank you for the kind words!

  3. It’s always something and this service year seems to be off to an eventful start for everyone! Sorry to hear it. But just as Bro Sanderson said at the annual meeting: no hope=no power, low hope=low power. Continue to highly hope in our dear Father and He will continue to sustain you.

    1. Thanks Shalina for the kind words. It seems like many have some sort of distressing situation to deal with or another. Things seem to only be intensifying. Thankfully Jah sustains us through it all.

  4. Thank you for sharing your ups and downs and giving us things to pray about for your family. Thank you for sharing your commitment to the ministry and being a great example.

    1. We enjoy sharing our experiences and we are glad that some find it encouraging. Thanks!

  5. WOW !!! Now that is something to deal with ! Unbelievable and yes you both have the correct focus and not letting this ‘situation’ dissuade you from continuing to give Jehovah your best . No doubt Jehovah will continue to smile on your service and support you as “has along ,yes he will make you form and He will make you strong”..

Hope all this will work out well for you and no doubt your continued focus on the ministry will help you to fill your minds with the ‘more important things’ of your zealous service to the Kingdom and it’s interests ..
Stay well and happy my friends and may Jehovah richly bless your efforts to serve him.

    1. Thank you for the kind words Bill! We will continue to rely on Jehovah. We wish you his blessing on your activity as well in your local territory.

  6. Sorry to hear this! I was actually hit in a police chase years ago. Someone had stolen a car, and were trying to escape the police. The “positive” side is – if you struggle with story telling or conversations – its an interesting story to tell to others 🙂
May Jehovah continue to bless your work!

    1. Yeah, that is one positive thing about it. Thanks for sharing your experience.
