We made it to our new Congregation in Murcia!

Well today was the day that we have been waiting for these past several months! We have finally arrived in Murcia which is where our French group is located that we will be supporting. We left Madrid this afternoon around 2:30 by bus and took the 4 1/2 hour trip to the southeast of Spain stopping once along the way. We were able to see the countryside along the way. It was sad leaving Alfredo and Susane (Alfredo’s sister) and their family. We felt like we were saying good bye all over again to dear friends! 🙁 We have really grown to love Alfredo and Susane in the short time that we have spent with them! This morning Susane took Kanicia and I to a typical Spanish Churroceria where we had spanish churros with spanish coffee and hot chocolate. We then got ready for our departure. Once we arrived in Murcia we were not sure exactly where to meet the new brothers from the French group since we did not know what they looked like. We waited for about an hour and we didn’t see anyone. After a few calls from the payphone and some local Africans asking us if everything was alright we decided to look around a little more. It turned out that we were waiting in the wrong area and the brothers were waiting on the other side of the bus station! After I found the brothers we were so relieved! :0

We were surprised to see about 8 friends from the French group waiting for us with smiles and open arms!!! They had waited almost an hour for us but the whole time we were only about 50 feet away from each other but we were divided by a wall! We all had a good laugh. We got to meet the special pioneer couple Francisco and his wife Mercedes who we have been communication with prior to leaving the U.S. We also got to meet some other friends in the group including a brother who had served in France bethel for a few years. The few friends that we meet were all very warm and appreciative! We then were brought to the home of a Spanish couple who are part of the French group which is where we are staying until we find our apartment. We were able to have dinner with them in their outdoor kitchen they use for the summer, since it gets hot here! It was very Mediterranean. We learned alot about the group and about the circuit. Needless to say we are thrilled to be here and we can’t wait to see what’s next! Seeing the brothers and experiencing their warmth and love feels like Jehovah wrapping his arms around us and showing us that he cares and loves us! We can’t wait to share more…

We are serving where the need is great in southern Spain and are actively involved in the TESOL community. We enjoy helping people learn how to teach English and support themselves in another country.
